AUDE MGBA LET’S MAKE SOME SPACE

Bazar

09.—14.05.2017 / Performances, DJ sets, films, talks / Mannheim (DE) Zeitraumexit / www.supercopy.eu
Curated by Madrassa Collective for SUPERCOPY Festival 2017
With the participation of: Marcio Carvalho, Christian Etongo, Firas Hamdan, Abdellah Hassak, Hadia Gana, Ülkü Süngün and Oussama Tabti

In the context of Supercopy 2017, Madrassa Collective takes over the Kiosk of Zeitraumexit transforming it into (a) Bazar, a playful market of remixed images, sounds, bodies, and knowledge from Africa and the Middle East. Featuring performances, videos, films, sound art, electronic music and debates, the space interrogates processes constructing and performing collective memory and cultural identity in increasingly (re)mixed societies. By so doing, it pays particular attention to the role played by copy, mimicry and détournement as vectors for the negotiated construction of socio-cultural belonging and as strategies of cultural resistance and artistic radical re-imagination.

This program is funded by the Co-Production Fund granted by Goethe Institute and within the framework of Change of Scene, a program of the Robert Bosch Stiftung and the International Theatre Institute
